For instructors

Your system knows who finished. It cannot tell you who is ready.

Card: Finished is not ready, with a completed checklist beside an incomplete one

Three instructors corrected our targeting in September, and this piece exists because of what they said.

One told us Part 107 is a prerequisite to what he teaches, not the subject of it. A programme director told us he already owns completion tracking and credential reporting, and a system that tells him who finished is a solved problem he is not paying twice for. A public-safety contact told us his agency can self-certify its pilots under a COA and may never sit the knowledge test at all.

What survives all three is narrow, and worth stating exactly.

The gap

Completion tracking records that a student attended the unit and, later, that they hold the certificate. It does not tell you which student should not book the exam yet. It does not tell you which topic the class is weakest on this week. It cannot, because those are measurements of understanding, and attendance is not one.

The exam costs $175 and a failure means fourteen days before a retake. A student who books because they finished, rather than because they are ready, pays for the difference.

The instrument

Three things, in this order.

Readiness per student and per topic, with the sample size beside every score. Grey where the sample is too thin to judge, and the page says so rather than showing a number it cannot support.

Reteach-first. The topic to reteach this week, computed from the class rather than from a hunch, counting only students with a real sample. Every missed question carries its FAA citation, so the reteach starts from the source rather than from our explanation.

Timed sims matching the real sitting — 60 scored plus 5 validation, 120 minutes — weighted to the blueprint the FAA moved to on 29 September 2025, and non-repeating.

The loop

A student drills Regulations. Their topic score moves. Their overall readiness moves. The class reteach-first priority re-orders. Nobody typed anything into a report.

What leaves the browser

The per-topic score, the sample size, and the gate status. No answers, no question ids, nothing that reveals which items a student saw. That sentence is for the compliance office, and it is true.

Seats

Ten seats is not ten students. A seat is either a monthly licence, assigned and reassigned freely across students and classes as the month goes, or prepaid — one student, one time, ninety days from the moment that student activates, and never reassigned. Which one fits depends on whether you run sections all year or classes one at a time, and we can walk you through both in fifteen minutes.
